How’s your heart this morning?  Are you ready to hear from Him?  Take a moment to prepare your heart.  Then, when you feel ready, read the devotional below.

Psalm 55:22

The other day I was looking at my a mechanical pump at my house and noticed that the pressure was really high.  The solution was easy enough: use the pressure release valve.  That experience made me think, “Wouldn’t it be great to have a ‘pressure release valve’ for your job?  Marriage?  With your kids?”  Wouldn’t it be great to not have to talk stuff out, cry it out or yell it out?  Just press a button and the pressure goes away.

Unfortunately, pressure release valves for people don’t exist yet.  If they do invent one some day, I’ll let you know!  Because pressure release valves for people don’t exist, we end up engaging in some interesting behaviors to try to deal with the “building pressure” in our lives.

Think about your “norms” for dealing with pressure.  Are these healthy, Christ-honoring ways?  Spend time asking God to search your heart in regards to this issue and ask Him to point out what you need to see in regards to your “pressure” responses.
