Did you know that your Heavenly Father can’t wait to meet with you today?  It’s true!  Spend a minute or two dwelling on that and then read the passage below using your Bible Study Insert.

Exodus 34:6-7

Exodus 34 was written in a world teeming with “gods and goddesses” and most of them were mean spirited.  To say they had anger management issues would be a gross understatement.

Many of them were openly hostile, waiting in the shadows, just waiting for a chance to pounce.  So hearing that God is anger wasn’t the surprising part for the people of God.

What makes Yahweh’s anger so surprising was this: He doesn’t get angry MORE often!

He’s always giving mercy INSTEAD of anger!   One of the biggest issues the Old Testament writers have with Yahweh is He doesn’t act on His anger more!  But so often in the Scriptures, God’s way of dealing with sin is to step back and allow evil to run itself into the ground.  It turns out sin is its own punishment and obedience its own reward.

As you prepare to pray,  what do you sense your Heavenly Father speaking to you right now?
