Jesus promised us He would never leave us (Matt. 28:19-20). That means He is present with you right now. Is your heart prepared to hear from Him? Take a moment to prepare your heart to hear from Him then read the passage below.
“When the man saw that he would not win the match, he touched Jacob’s hip and wrenched it out of its socket.” — Genesis 32:25
Why does Jacob’s story matter to you and me? Here’s why it matters to us: Everybody wrestles God in some way in their lives. You wrestle with God when you ask, “Why did You give me the father/mother I have?” Why didn’t He give me the talents, blessings that others have? Why don’t I have the ability to make lots of money? Why did God make me so sensitive? Why don’t I have more leverage or influence?
But our Heavenly Father reminds us, just like he reminded Jacob, the real problems aren’t THOSE things. The REAL issue is, “I want you to trust me!”
I want you to depend on my grace.
As you prepare to pray, what do you sense Him speaking to you right now? How is He calling you to respond?
