How’s your heart this morning? Are you dealing with any stresses or burdens? Start your time today bringing them to your Heavenly Father, then, read the passage below using your Bible Study Insert.
“Be strong and courageous… Be strong and very courageous… This is my command—be strong and courageous!” — Joshua 1:6, 7 & 9
In our passage today, God repeatedly tells this new leader of His people, Joshua, to be strong and courageous because he’s about to lead the Hebrew nation in their conquest of Canaan — The Promised Land. But WHY is God going to have to be strong and courageous? Because God is calling Josh to some pretty big assignments.
We’ve all found ourselves in places where more courage is needed. What I find so interesting is we’ll be COURAGEOUS when it comes to thrill seeking adventures (bungee jumping, public speaking, etc.), but have you ever prayed for COURAGE when it comes to your FAITH? Is it even in our vocabulary as twenty-first century Christians to ask God to give us COURAGE to speak his Word, to represent him in our workplace, neighborhoods, with our friends and family?
As you prepare to pray, what do you sense Him speaking to you right now? How is He calling you to respond?
