How’s your heart this morning? Are you ready to hear from Him?
The Book of Judges reminds us that the mantra “I can do what I want as long as it doesn’t HURT anyone” is just an impossible dream. The truth is, when you embrace this attitude, you hurt YOU, you also hurt the people WITH you and you also hurt those who come AFTER you. Some of you reading this today are struggling with some really hard issues: you’re hard to get along with, difficult to talk to, next to impossible to get close to…Some of you have discovered the reason you’re a little “OFF” is because there was a time in your life when those people who loved you said, “I’m going to do what I want to do, when I want to do it, with whom I want to do it with and no one is going to tell me I can’t. ” Mom or dad said, “It’s not hurting anybody. We’re two consenting adults. There’s no law that says I can’t.” So dad ran off with her and mom started drinking but they forgot to factor you in. The truth is, it’s hurt you every year of your life since then. This is the danger of pursuing a life that embraces, “whatever seemed right in their own eyes.” (Judges 21:25)
As you prepare to pray, what do you sense Him speaking to you right now? How is He calling you to respond?
