Did you know that your Heavenly Father can’t wait to meet with you today? It’s true! Spend a minute or two dwelling on that and then read the passage below using your Bible Study Insert.
23 Those who listen to the word but do not do what it says are like people who look at their faces in a mirror 24 and, after looking at themselves, go away and immediately forget what they look like. — James 1:23-24
Part of having a heart like God’s involves LISTENING. Listening is when we find ourselves in God’s Word and ask, “how are things in my heart according to your Word Lord?” I know it may be uncomfortable to see some things in your heart that are broken, (my negative attitude, my dishonest approach, etc…) But listen intently, and keep listening until you see what’s REALLY going on. Once you discover that, why not commit to the following: “I’m going to do whatever it takes for you to have your way in me. I’m all in. You’ve got all of me.” As God heart is revealed to us through His Word, I pray that we would listen intently, and that we would refuse to quit listening until we had made the adjustments necessary to bring our heart into alignment with His heart.
As you prepare to pray, what do you sense your Heavenly Father speaking to you right now? How is He calling you to respond?
