“Like newborn babies, you must crave…” — 1 Peter 2:2
Yesterday we saw the dream of Jesus for His church: to make Christlike disciples. The question is, how can more and more people see this Christ-centered dream become reality? In our passage today, we are told to “crave.” The word “crave” here is to long for and earnestly desire.
The truth is, everyone “craves”. Your cravings may center on beauty, being respected, getting to the top of your field, being the valedictorian, president of your company, etc. The question is, what do you crave? We are craving creatures. It's not about not craving but rather reorienting our cravings to those things that really fulfill. God’s Word tells us that if these cravings are not centered in God, if they don’t draw you closer to Him and help you love UP, IN and OUT in a deeper level, you’re missing out!
What is God speaking to your heart about right now? What is He calling you to do? What step is He prompting you to take?
