PUSH CONCLUDES
At 12:01 on the 1st of September, our challenge ends. Many have had remarkable experiences during these dog days of summer. God has helped the church with many victories. Our church financial needs were met. Two ladies were healed. Many found jobs, new places to live, and some relationships were restored. Pray Until Something Happens, Pray Until Someone is Healed, and Pray Until Spiritually Holy. In all three, the emphasis was placed on prayer. God met many needs.
I also challenged many to fast for the summer, I asked you to give up something. I asked you to sacrifice something you enjoyed and then pray specifically for a need. Many have been faithful to their fast. I have not had an orange Sunkist drink since before June. This Wednesday at 12:01, if I choose to have a Sunkist, I can. I found out that this was easier than I thought. I was giving up something I long for each day and felt like I had to have. I actually realized that God filled that void. I didn’t have the urge for my daily ounces of sugar. Instead, I realized if my dependence is on Him, then He takes away what is not important and He puts my mind on what is.
I have to be honest…I’m looking forward to tasting my Sunkist again. However, it is good to know that I no longer need it. God continues to teach us new ways.
LOVEWELL
Cory introduced our theme song for the month of September. The Generous Mr. Lovewell is a song written by the worship group, Mercy Me. They also wrote, ‘I Can Only Imagine’. The song is about a man who daily wakes us with the intentions of loving and giving to others. I will be reminding us and teaching on the theme Love. Learning to love well is what will make our world better.
GRAND POP
The month has arrived with me officially becoming a Grand Pop. Jeremy and Lynette’s son arrives toward the end of the month…and I’m thrilled to death. I couldn’t be more excited about being a grandparent. I have looked forward to this time for years.
Interesting, I think I may have looked older than what my age is. Dee Ann and I went to the Golden Corral a few weeks back and the cashier gave us the Sr. Adult discount without even asking us if we were seniors. I didn’t know if I should have said thank you or been mad. One thing for sure, this told me that I’m ready to be a grandparent.
COMMUINITY
Many enjoyed our combined service. We are planning more Sundays together. It is refreshing, exciting and rewarding to see how the Holy Spirit unites our hearts in one accord. Let us be thankful for all we have. Let the church be the church.
FALL HAS ARRIVED
As fall comes upon us, the church is gearing up. The Life classes are set to start. New LifeGroups are ready to launch. We will have new prayer emphasis. In October we will have a family day sponsored by CR. On Sunday morning October 24th we’ll have a combined service with CR in charge. The purpose is to understand and to experience what takes place on Friday nights. This ministry is touching many hearts and changing lives. This will give you a glimpse into what is happening at GNAZ.
GNAZ.ORG
If you have not been on our website, you need to. It’s full of information about what is taking place in your church. It includes the audio of my weekly sermons and my blog.
It has the connection to our children’s and teens' websites. It also introduces all our ministries. Check it out at WWW.GNAZ.ORG and learn more about your church.
May God bless you through this week. I pray that you will be encouraged and lifted in all that you do.

Re: As Summer Ends, our New Season Begains!
Thank you , Pastor Mike for your faithfulness to the flock. It is exciting to see what God is doing in your life and at Glendale Nazarene. I believe it is just the beginning of an explosion! Amen?
